A rustic wooden table set with bread, olive oil, figs and pomegranates in warm afternoon light

Our Story

How a simple question - what did the people of Scripture actually eat? - grew into a kitchen, a table, and a way of life.

Why Biblical Recipes

Biblical Recipes began with a simple curiosity about the food woven through the pages of Scripture. Long before sealed packages and ingredient lists we could not pronounce, people ate barley and wheat, lentils and beans, olives and their oil, figs, dates, pomegranates, honey, fresh fish, and herbs gathered from the hillside. These foods were whole, seasonal, and minimally processed - the same kind of eating that so many families are quietly returning to today.

This site is our attempt to bring those foods back to the modern table. For us, cooking is more than fuel; it is a spiritual and family practice. Kneading dough, simmering a pot of stew, and breaking bread together are small, sacred rhythms. We want recipes that honor that - dishes you can make with your children, share with neighbors, and serve with gratitude.

We are also riding a wave we did not start: a renewed hunger for ancient, Mediterranean, and minimally-processed eating. Where that interest meets the foods named throughout the Bible, something beautiful happens. Our promise is to keep it grounded - real ingredients, real cooking, and the stories behind each dish. We frame this as a lifestyle rooted in faith, not as a health program, and we make no medical claims about any food or recipe.

"For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer."
1 Timothy 4:4-5

Our Mission

Our mission is to help families rediscover the wholesome, time-honored foods of Scripture and cook them with confidence, simplicity, and thanksgiving - turning everyday meals into moments of nourishment, connection, and faith.

Meet Abraham

Abraham Cole started Biblical Recipes after spending years rereading the Bible with a notebook in hand, jotting down every meal, harvest, and feast mentioned along the way. What began as a personal project, testing ancient breads and stews in a small home kitchen, slowly grew into a collection worth sharing.

Today Abraham develops and photographs every recipe from his sunlit countryside kitchen, cooking alongside his family and writing about the faith and history behind each dish. He believes the oldest foods are often the most nourishing, and that a shared table is where faith and family quietly come to life.
